The Mosu people are a distinct native Chinese community who live in the Southwest of China. Their society is one of the last matrilineal societies in the world. Different from the other Chinese ethnic groups, the Mosu don’t have a written language to start with. Under the influence of modernity, many traditions are disappearing.
