Ruiling Zhang, an Chinese contemporary famous calligrapher, professor and researcher, is skilled at regular script. His calligraphy is rigorous in structure, upright and fantastic, steady and flexible, hard with soft lined, rich in rhythm, full of motion and classical elements. He began his writing at the age of six, and for more than seventy years, he has specialized in regular script, for small letters, middle letters and large letters, and took the  master calligraphers' calligraphy copybooks as “teachers”, such as of Xizhi Wang, Zhenqing Yan, Xun Ouyang, Suiliang Chu, gathered the advantages of all groups and formed his own style. In his early years, Mr. Zhang has been appraised as the first person of Chinese regular script by in and out of this field, but he just said modestly “I am a lover of calligraphy”.
