晋剧是山西梆子，是中国北方的一个重要戏剧剧种，是中国传统戏剧。本片作者将镜头对准了山西省沁源县晋剧团。以一名晋剧徐生青年演员“二毛”为切入点，讲述了三位完全不同的青年人在戏曲道路上的追梦故事。他们对戏曲的热爱与以及生活的无奈，尽管其生于贫困但仍追求梦想的三五线小镇青年的心态。作者以青年的视角去观察当下青年。希望告诉大家在那个小城还有一群努力追梦的年轻人。
The Jin Opera, or Shanxi Bangzi, is an important drama in North China and a Chinese traditional drama. The author of this documentary focuses on the Troupe of Jin Opera of Qinyuan County, Shanxi Province. Through a young actor, Xu Sheng, it tells a story about three different young men pursuing their dream for opera, their love for the opera and helpless for the life despite their poverty in the third-tier to fifth-tier cities.The author observes the current youths from the perspective of youth. It tells people that there are a group of youths making their efforts to pursue their dream in the small city.
